Job Description

Closs & Hamblin (formerly C&H Fabrics) are looking for a Part Time member of staff to assist in their Tunbridge Wells Store. The Curtain Workroom & Sales Assistant is a permanent position. Saturday work will be required but will be spent working on the shop floor rather than in the Workroom. Closs & Hamblin specialises in made-to-measure Curtains, Blinds and Shutters.

Job Role:
- To prepare fabrics, cut linings and apportion making accessories for each customer order, and distribute to the freelance curtain makers
- To liaise with curtain makers and assign work to them, manage timings, and quality check all returned work
- Where work is not carried out satisfactorily, makers will be asked to rectify issues and mistakes at their own cost
- To check off all made-to-measure blinds, shutters, tracks and poles prior to fitting appointments or customer collection. Where issues are identified with products, to liaise with suppliers to get to a prompt resolution
- To work closely with the Furnishing Administrator and Floor Manager, to communicate when products are ready for collection or fitting, so the customer can then be contacted
- The role will also require some shop floor cover on the Furnishing Floor from time to time as required, and Saturday hours will spent working on the shop floor as part of the sales team

This role will be best suited to someone with experience of curtain making, or a genuine interest in home furnishings. Previous retail sales experience is also advantageous but not essential. A good level of maths is required, and an ability to work in an ordered and methodical manner with attention to detail is key. Whilst some of the day will be spend working with colleagues, some periods will also be spent working solo in the Workroom, so self-motivation is important.

Salary - 7.83ph + 20% Staff Discount
Hours - 26 hours, 5 days per week (inc Saturdays)
