Job Description

Entry-Level Army Roles

Nationwide
Full-time

THIS IS BELONGING

Everyone wants to belong to something. A football team, a family, a close-knit group of friends. The sense of belonging you find in the Army is next level. When you’ve trained together, side by side, learned things no classroom can teach you. When you’ve lived together and worked together, it creates a bond like no other. A bond that lasts a lifetime, and sees you through whatever life throws at you.

The Army has all kinds of roles available – from Warehouse Distribution Assistants helping to pick, pack and deliver ammo, to Communication Engineers that keep units in touch on the battlefield. Help to keep our soldiers and their families fit and healthy by becoming a Nurse, or join a band as a Musician and find yourself performing on the world’s greatest stages. You could be a Translator, helping to build relationships with local communities, or a Mapping & Planning Specialist mapping disaster relief plans or top secret environments. You could even be a Business Administrator ensuring your fellow soldiers are taken care of. And then of course, there are always our Infantry, Guardsman and Tank Crewman roles which will see you in the heart of the action. Whatever you’re interested in doing, you’ll be trained by experienced soldiers who will do everything they can to help you to succeed. You’ll get fit, achieve real qualifications, make friends for life – and travel the world with them.

WORLD-CLASS TRAINING

You’ll start with basic training (20 weeks at Harrogate for those aged 16 years 6 months to 17 years 5 months, 14 weeks at Pirbright for those aged 17 years to 32 years 11 months). After that it’s on to your specialist training depending on the role you choose.

GAIN QUALIFICATIONS

The Army will pay for you to gain valuable qualifications. These could include:

  • CIPD
  • CIMA
  • HGV licences
  • NCQ and/or QCF Apprentice qualifications
  • You could even work towards a Masters, BSc or BA
  • Diplomas in a range of music subjects
  • Assisted learning in medical specialties

SHOW PEOPLE WHAT YOU’RE CAPABLE OFWe'll be behind you every step of the way as you move up the ranks. Right from the start of your training, you’ll get the support and encouragement you need to make a success of your career. Work hard and you could get promoted, which will mean more responsibility and extra pay. And along the way, you'll pick up qualifications that are recognised by civilian employers.

BELONG TO SOMETHING THAT MATTERS

You should be:

  • Regular Army age: 16 - 32.11 years
  • Army Reserve age: 17.9 - 49.11 years

Qualifications you’ll need:

  • GCSE grade C in English Language, Maths and Science/ICT
  • No formal qualifications required for infantry

Interests you’ll have

  • Sport and adventure
  • Helping people
  • Decision making & responsibility
  • Outdoor activities

Our next deadline for application is the 30th September 2018, with further opportunities ongoing throughout the year.
