Key Duties:
- Promoting development and learning (physical, emotional, educational and social)
- Fostering growth, self-esteem and independence, observing and recording development
- Supporting those with special needs
- Assisting with the planning and preparation of activities
- Participating in the preparation of the classroom
- Attending weekly staff meetings
- Helping with playground duties
- Contributing to the wider life of the school community
Personal Qualities :
- Be reliable, efficient and well organised
- Be respectful and professional when addressing others and in appearance
- Willingness to undergo a compulsory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check for suitability for working with children and young people
Skills Required :
- An interest in, and commitment to, working with children and/or young people
- The ability to relate well to children, young people and adults
- Motivation to succeed within the job
- Willingness to reflect on their own practice, learn, and apply that learning in the workplace
- Willingness to work as a member of a team and communicate effectively with a range of people
- Be numerate and literate
- Be able to use initiative
- Be able to exercise confidentiality
Future Prospects :
There will be increasing opportunities for the apprentice to take on a wider range of responsibilities and gain additional experience in other schools in the partnership. Employment and progression within the organisation may be possible upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship.
