Job Description

Duties will include:-




  • Answering the door to customers/deliveries and dealing with appropriately.

  • Getting stock from the store room for shop floor workers as and when they ask for them.

  • Stock control of all office stationary and small item materials for workshop, keeping a list of things as and when they are required and then ordering.

  • Making sure timesheets and job cards are kept up to date.

  • Opening of mail and distributing into Laser, Europe and electrical.

  • Keeping the job list up to date i.e. filing date of job cards/invoice no?s/supplier delivery notes etc.

  • Material list keeping up to date.

  • Calculating hours on job cards.

  • Working out laser hours on a weekly basis and dealing with them as required. 

  • Keeping track of regular jobs using your personal diary system on Outlook ? (training to be given where necessary).

  • Keeping a track of job cards & clock cards to be filled in so they never run out.

  • Keeping reception/office area and store room clean and tidy.

  • Making drinks at break and lunch times and for visitors as and when required. 

  • Keeping track of tea/coffee/sugar/milk/hand soap/toilet roll/cleaning products and replenishing when necessary    

  • General admin duties i.e. photocopying/faxing etc.

  • Filing.

  • Basic accounting duties using Sage (training given if necessary)



Any other duties as and when required to be kept in line with your job role and capability.

  • Able to prioritise workload

  • Good time management skills

  • Smart presentation

  • Be willing to do any task given and work as part of a team as well as on own initiative



Skills Required :

Expect somebody with good maths and computing abilities, clear communicator



Future Prospects :

On completion of the Intermediate Apprenticeship, individuals will have the opportunity to apply to progress on to an Advanced Apprenticeship.
