Job Description

Position: Fundraising and Communications Manager
Location: UK
Reporting to: Development Director
Duration: 6 month part-time contract (24 hours per week)

Main Role / Purpose
The Fundraising and Communication Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing all fundraising for the organisation, developing and implementing a range of fundraising projects and applications which include corporate, educational, grant bodies and individual donations. In conjunction with the Development Director, the role will also promote a corporate communications strategy and actively market the organisation to a wide audience nationally and internationally. We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative thinker with experience who is capable of working remotely but as part of a small team.

Main Responsibilities
Key areas areas of responsibility are:

Partnership Management
In order to work as effectively as possible, the Sabre Trust strives to collaborate with partner organisations (corporates and educational establishments), donors and individual volunteers. As such the Fundraising and Communications Manager is required to work with the following sectors:


- Corporate & Educational Partnerships
- Networking – collating a database of contacts
- Identifying areas of coincidence between SCT’s work and their business areas
- Working with Development Director to prepare proposals for corporate & school
partnerships

- Volunteer & Charity Relationships
- Ensure effective communication to existing and potential volunteers
- Identify to the Development Director any interventions required at a strategic level
- Actively network with regional and national NGOs & CBOs (Community Based
Organisations) to identify areas for collaboration and exchange across the scope of
SCT’s programmes

Fundraising and Event Management
The Trust has established core fundraising events that need management and development. In addition you will need to enhance and promote a new range of fundraising initiatives to the following audiences:
- Schools
- Corporates
- Individual Volunteers

As an evolving and expanding organisation, the specifics on how these work areas are implemented on the ground will inevitably change and evolve. The list of duties will be reviewed and amended as appropriate to the needs of the organisation.

Performance Indicators
Every month an informal review process will take place, this will look at performance against the personal targets and objectives agreed for that period. Other areas of consideration willbe the setting of targets for subsequent reporting period.

Compensation and benefits
- Basic salary £20,000 pro rata
- 20 days’ holiday per annum
- One return flight to Ghana at the start of the contract

Qualifications

  • Experience/ knowledge
    - A track record of successful fundraising experience and pro-active marketing
    - Experience of producing and publishing high quality publicity materials
    - Up to date political knowledge and awareness and media liaison experience

    Skills
    - Ability to write grant funding applications and have campaigning skills
    - Networking, relationship building, negotiating, supervisory and leadership skills
    - Clear and concise oral and written communication
    - Ability to organise structures, processes and systems, think strategically but also delegate work appropriately
    - Good IT skills, or willingness to learn including use of design tools and databases andthe ability to make pre
