SCL are a family business that was born in 1999 by our two Founders Lewis Field and Steve Franks. SCL is still run by Lewis and Steve, who you can see around our Sandhurst office most days. If you can’t see them, you can pick up the phone and talk to them. Why? Because SCL as a business, is a people business and nothing matters more to Lewis and Steve than ensuring they are accessible to every member of our team and that they still know what is going on throughout their business. Lewis, Steve and all our employees who have joined us since the day SCL was born, have been inspiring children and young people for almost 20 years , starting with Primary School children then extending now to include Apprenticeships and Further and Higher Education programmes. Sitting in a car one dark and wet March morning in 1999, eating a bacon bap, Lewis and Steve discussed how they both believe their purpose in life is to “…make a positive impact on children’s lives and create a strong legacy”. Today they have turned their breakfast bap chat into a thriving and successful business where they have turned their dream into a reality. It’s an inspiring story with two inspiring Leaders at the top that all of our team are part of. SCL are now the UK’s largest private provider of education through sport and active childcare, inspiring primary children to get active at our breakfast provisions, afterschool and holiday clubs. SCL also educate 16-19 year olds with our further education programmes run in partnership with sports clubs and sporting organisations as well as offering higher education degree programmes. Now, with over 250 employees, all over England from the far North to as far south as Exeter, we are proud to be England's largest independent provider of education through sport and children activites and childcare. Our Vision is to positively impact the lives of over 1 Million children and young people. Within SCL, we employ staff to cover many different roles, across the country, with different skillsets ranging from Sports Lecturers to Childcare workers, Marketing professionals to Customer Service and Sales professionals.
