CRCC Asia Tokyo Leaving Ceremony & Intern Testimonials July 2024

The whole experience gave me a whole new outlook on my career and my personal life too. I’ve always liked computers so when I was picking my major for college I picked computer science because I found coding and creating software and stuff really interesting. Going through the internship, it made me want to switch to a different alley of CS, which is web development.

CRCC Asia was really a great experience for me because I got to see and simulate the life of a Japanese person. The friends I made along the way will always have a place in my heart as people who shared the same interests as me.’

- Phong Tran, Computer Science major at San Diego Community College

‘My internship was at The Hive Vietnam, a coworking operator operating across several countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

Vietnam has a rich culture, and active recent history which is simultaneously tragic and incredibly uplifting. Not only was this internship an incredible opportunity to experience a new culture, living day to day as ‘local’ as you can, but also a wonderful opportunity to learn about the historical composition of this country and how it came to be.

My advice to any future interns is just to go, do it, and make the most of it! Whenever you have the opportunity to be in a new culture or environment, make sure to fully embrace it and try everything; I promise you will only regret the things you didn’t do!

- Sophie Delugar, double degree in Commerce and Property at the University of Auckland

‘I wanted an international work experience and learn more about business and marketing in a real life setting as I see myself living in Asia in the future. CRCC Asia landed me an internship that I otherwise would not have been able to land on my own. Everything from the accommodations, internship, on-the-ground support, etc. was prepared for me since the day I was accepted onto the program. My internship exceeded my expectations and surprised me in ways I had never expected. I got to experience a unique work culture at an international company in fast-paced Seoul that challenged me to diversify my skillset and kept me on my feet. I got to meet people from countries I never would have imagined meeting and became good friends with them. I consider this program a once in a lifetime experience and appreciate how well-prepared and effortless the entire process was.’

~ Vaughn Graham, University of Wellington
