As with nearby Penshurst Place, Hever Castle near Edenbridge in Kent is a great place for students and other young people to track down catering jobs.

The 13th Century country house was lived in by the Boleyn family (Anne Boleyn grew up at Hever) and was once owned by King Henry VIII who gave it to Anne of Cleves, his fourth wife.

As a modern day tourist attraction, Kent’s Hever Castle still alludes to much of its royal Tudor heritage, with lots of memorabilia such as Anne Boleyn’s prayer books on display. There is also much to learn about the Astor family who lived in Hever Castle for eight decades during the 20th Century and who are largely responsible for turning the castle into the popular tourist attraction it has become today.

As well as the castle itself, Hever also has many features within its 125 acre gardens - including an English rose garden, Italian gardens, lakes and a giant topiary chess set. Add to that the mazes, miniature model houses, regular tours and trails - as well as ad hoc festivals, fun days and events throughout the year - and you’ll see that there’s no shortage of things to keep people amused and entertained at Hever Castle.

And you can also imagine that such a setting is going to attract a whole lot of visitors - which meant Hever Castle needs to recruit excellent staff on a regular basis to make sure that all of their guests have a fantastic and memorable time.

And that’s where you come in...

If you fancy working in such an idyllic setting as Hever Castle, either in the castle itself or as part of the garden and grounds teams, then recruiters such as Compass Group should be able to find your perfect role.

Catering and hospitality jobs at Hever Castle in Kent include everything from bar & waiting staff to sandwich makers and restaurant cleaners. There’s vacancies for cafe and banqueting assistants and positions for breakfast chefs. You can find hours during the week and dedicated roles for teams just at the weekends.
