Company DetailsThe Kia Oval is an international cricket ground in Kennington, London. But, that’s understating things a little...because The Oval is not just an international cricket ground, it was the very first international cricket ground in England. England faced Australia at The Oval way back in September 1880 for the first ever international Test Match in this country - and they came away with a 5 wicket win. As well as hosting international Test Matches, the Kia Oval is also the home of Surrey Cricket Club. But it’s not just been all about cricket at the Kia Oval...8 years before that first Test Match, The Kennington Oval hosted the first ever FA Cup Final (known as the Football Association Challenge Cup in those days) when the Wanderers beat the Royal Engineers 1-0. Two years before that, in 1870, The Oval witnessed the first ever international football match when Scotland held England to a 1-1 draw. So, as you can see The Kia Oval certainly has some history! Coming back to the modern day, the Kia Oval ground is still home to top class sporting entertainment - but also hosts events, conferences and provides hospitality services throughout the year. You could be working at County or International Test Cricket Matches and get to see some of the games for free. You could also be working at other hospitality functions such as celebrations, award ceremonies, exhibitions and even Christmas parties at the Kia Oval if you apply for a place with the Compass Group. Just some of the catering and hospitality roles we’ve advertised at the Kia Oval include match day bartenders, waiters/waitresses, supervisors, cellar porters and commis chefs. But flexible hospitality jobs aren’t just confined to match days, there’s plenty going on all of the time at the Kia Oval, so keep your eyes on the ball for new jobs at this London venue at all times of the year. |
