Company Details

Millie's Cookies is a chain of bakeries which sells cookies, muffins, hot drinks and gift items. The company has over 100 stores in the United Kingdom and also has operations under the same name in Egypt, France, Germany, Hong Kong and Malta.

Millie's Cookies started baking in 1985 and opened their first store inside Selfridges on London’s Oxford Road. After more store openings in the capital, Millie’s Cookies had also opened up branches in other major places like Birmingham, Manchester and Sheffield. Their quickest expansion came when they bought out rival firm Cookie Jar in 1997 and changed dozens of their stores into branches of Millie’s Cookies.

The chain has made a major success of opening up in train stations and airports to cater for travellers and commuters who are looking to eat on the move. Millie’s Cookies is also a regular feature at the UK’s shopping centres, sometimes as standalone stores and sometimes co-branded with ice-cream firms Baskin-Robbins and Ben and Jerry's. You can also order cookies online and have them delivered straight to your door.

You can find branches of Millie’s Cookies all over the UK so there could be an outlet advertising full or part time jobs within easy reach of where you are studying or living.

These days, Millie’s Cookies is owned by parent company SSP, a food travel company which also owns or partners up with loads of other food and drink brands like Breadbox, Burger King, Burritos, Caffè Ritazza, Camden Food Co, Caviar House & Prunier, Delice de France, Harry Ramsden's, M&S Simply Food, Mi Casa, Pumpkin, Sloe Bar, SOHO Coffee Company, Starbucks, The Beer House, The Pasty Shop, Whistlestop and Upper Crust.

SSP offers a range of jobs to suit students, graduates and other young people of all levels of experience and background. You could work as a Team Member for SSP at Millie’s Cookies and then take on more responsibility as a Team Leader. You could work as part of their Support Services Team in a more office-based role like finance, marketing or IT. You could also sign up for SSP’s apprenticeship scheme which has been running since 2010 and work towards an NVQ. As a graduate, you could enrol on SSP’s Manager in Training programme which could see you moving into management within 18 months and earning a salary of over £18,000.

So, as you can see, there’s plenty of scope for full or part time employment with Millie’s Cookies and you could end up forging out a complete career with one of SSP’s big name brands.
