Magical Maths is a fun after school maths club, founded by Colin and Jenni Bradford, to help children LOVE maths. Dawn and Sai Woo are former teachers who are the owners of Magical Maths Essex, which is bringing this exciting new concept to to primary schools all over Essex .

So...what is it exactly?

Magical Maths is a six week program with a different theme each week. Each week has a single, one hour session and covers a variety of educational topics in a fun and exciting way. The clubs include some dressed up characters that will visit the schools from week to week, including a maths detective, a maths genius, the mathletes, and a mathemagician. Here’s a rundown of the themes for each week:

Week one: Meet the maths genius
Week two: Become a maths detective
Week three: Meet the mathemagician
Week four: Olympic mathletics
Week five: Puzzles and Games
Week six: Vote for your favourite to return

Work For Us

Magical Maths Essex are always looking for Mathemagician’s Assistants who are passionate, enthusiastic and excited about working with young people! We visit primary schools in Chelmsford, Brentwood, Colchester, Rayleigh, Maldon, Loughton, Basildon and Dunmow to run single hour after school maths clubs in six week blocks . We will provide you with our Magical Maths secret training, to provide you with all the resources you need to run Magical Maths programmes and you will mostly be working in small teams .

So, if you are a student or graduate who would like to work with children as part of your long term career plans, then a job with Magical Maths Essex could easily set you apart from the crowd. And, even if working with children is not your final goal in life after graduating, a student job with Magical Maths would still gain you some work valuable experience while you are having fun and earning some money

Mathemagician’s Assistants must:

  • Be over 18 years of age
  • Have experience working with children
  • Be passionate, enthusiastic and excited about working with young people.
  • Be willing to travel to schools around your county (access to a car is preferable).
  • Ideally be available at least two afternoons a week (from 2.30 to 4.30).
  • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate (formerly CRB) is essential (we can help you to obtain one ).
