JD Sports is one of the most famous retailers of sports clothing and other sports fashion items in the UK. The company stocks big brand sporting names like Adidas, Reebok and Nike alongside smaller exclusive brands such as Animal, McKenzie and O’Neill.
The North West firm started out in the early 1980s when John Wardle and David Makin put the initials of their Christian names together to brand their first shop in Bury. Two years later, JD Sports had a presence at Manchester’s Arndale Shopping Centre and, before the end of the decade, they were also retailing in London.
The JD Sports success story has continued and the chain has now grown to over 800 stores all over the UK. They have also got a foothold as a retailer in Europe with store openings in France and Spain.
If you aren’t sure whether there is a branch of JD Sports near where you are studying that might be offering some full or part time retail jobs then you can use the company’s handy store locator to find out.
