ASK Italian restaurants serve Italian food at over 120 locations across the United Kingdom. They also offer full and part time opportunities for bar work and restaurant jobs to students and other young people in the UK. ASK is now owned by the Gondola Group which also manages the Pizza Express and Zizzi chains of restaurants. It was founded by two brothers, Adam and Samuel Kaye, whose initials inspired the name of the brand. ASK also stands for Authentic Sicilian Cuisine, and the brothers opened the first branded restaurant at Paddington, London in 1993.
Since those early days, the chain has expanding regularly and there are now over ten ASK Italian restaurants in London alone. Outside of London, students might be able to source restaurant jobs at an ASK diner in many popular locations such as Birmingham, Cheltenham, Derby, Hull, Leicester, Liverpool, Nottingham, Oxford, York, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Cardiff and Swansea. (For a full list of ASK locations which might be advertising restaurant jobs, you might find the handy restaurant locator at the top of their main website useful.)
The majority of jobs that students will be able to do on a flexible basis at ASK Italian will be as part of the waiting team or as a kitchen assistant. Applicants with more experience and who can commit more hours could also apply for ASK Italian roles as chefs, duty managers, assistant managers or even general managers.
