Although it is originally a Belgian company, Brantano retails in footwear at dozens of locations throughout the UK and offers a range of retail jobs and careers for students, graduates and other young people.

The Brantano business started out in the early 1960s when two cobbler’s sons went their separate ways and André Brantegem added a retail outlet to their existing shoe manufacturing factory in Lede, East Flanders, Belgium.

The Brantano brand expanded into the UK as a subsidiary in 1998 when it launched with close to 50 retail stores in scattered locations. The UK chain of stores was purchased by the Macintosh Retail Group in 2007 and now employs over 2,000 people in retail jobs and support roles..

Brantano now has over 150 retail outlets in the United Kingdom, almost half the number the Brantano brand name trades from worldwide. Although most outlets are located at out of town retail parks, many of them are in big students areas like London, Bradford, Leicester, Leeds, Durham, Hull, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Cardiff and Swansea. To find out where your nearest Brantano branch is so that you can check if they are hiring, you can visit the store locator on their official UK website here.
