Company DetailsWhistl (formerly TNT Post) has emerged as the second biggest postal provider in the United Kingdom (at the time of writing). The Dutch-owned subsidiary of parent company Post NL now handles close to a quarter of all the mail which drops through a letterbox in the UK. And, with all of that post to deliver, Whistl needs a lot of reliable bodies in their ranks to help them make sure that all of the mail entrusted to them gets dropped off at the right addresses in a very timely manner. So students like you could be helping Whistl do just that - either on a part time basis, or with extended hours over busy holiday periods. Because, one thing to bear in mind is that postal services such as the Royal Mail and Whistl will definitely have more vacancies on offer for students at peak times like Christmas and Easter. In fact, the number of temporary jobs available tend to start rising significantly from as early as September each year. Many temporary positions at places like Whistl are available right through into the New Year, meaning that students have a decent chance of picking up lots of extra hours and bags of extra money for a good few months of the calendar year. (BTW If it’s around that time of year right now, then check out the latest Christmas Jobs here now.) So...what sort of jobs can students do at places like Whistl exactly? As well as the obvious postie type jobs, you could also find student jobs in the Whistl offices, depots and distribution facilities with either full or part time hours. Posties need to be 18 years or older - but leaflet delivery staff only need to be 16 and newspaper delivery teams accept keen workers as young as 13 years old. |
