Cool2Care is a social enterprise organisation which helps families to look after disabled youngsters.

The enterprise was set up by the parent of a disabled child in 2007 and now has over 60 employees. Cool2Care’s stated aim is ‘to be the leading provider of one-to-one matching services for disabled young people and their families in the UK, incorporating trained volunteers, care-workers, personal assistants, befrienders, buddies, and professionals.’

The organisation tries to help disabled children, young adults and their families to live a more enriched life both at home and when out and about.

Cool2Care are always searching for people who would like to work with disabled young people. If you are a student or graduate who would like to help out in this cause and earn some money at the same time, then keep an eye out for any jobs that Cool2Care might advertise through the E4S website.

Working for Cool2Care would make an ideal student job if you care about enriching the lives of other people as they often look for staff who would like to work on a part time basis – sometimes just 16 hours a week. They also recruit people into both temporary jobs and permanent positions – so again, these jobs are suitable for students and graduates alike.

Training as a care worker is free with Cool2Care so you would build up some very valuable work experience while you are helping the lives of others. Once you are trained, the organisation will try to place you with a family.

Typical tasks will include feeding the children, playing with them and getting them ready for bed. You could also be taking the children out into the community and providing other support to the family.

As well as care workers, the enterprise also advertises jobs for personal assistants, childcare trainers, managers, sales staff and other support workers so they are looking for people from a range of backgrounds and with various levels of experience.
