A role as a personal assistant (PA) with Active Assistance is a great way to gain valuable experience and recognised qualifications. This could be important to you should you wish to further your career in the health, social or welfare sectors.

Supporting our clients

As a PA you will work either one to one or as part of a team with our physically disabled children and adults assisting them to live an independent and active life. Live-in and live-out opportunities across England and Wales.

Live-in assignments are flexible and vary from one to three weeks. Paid travel to and from work*, food and accommodation provided. To be considered, you must have a valid UK, EU or International driving licence and be aged 21 or over. You will travel through England and Wales working with different Active Assistance clients gaining a variety of experiences.

Live-out assignments have various shift patterns based on the client’s needs. You will be recruited specifically for one client or perhaps works with a number of clients in a specific location. To be considered you need to be aged 18 or over.

Duties may include getting the client in and out of bed, washing, dressing, cleaning, shopping, toileting and general household tasks (all activities of daily living). It may also be necessary to drive the client’s car and accompany them to work, social events and appointments or even on holiday.

Free training provided

Following interview, all our PAs are required to attend and complete our award winning training course. This covers all aspects of the role, including first aid, and fully prepares you for your first assignment.

For those who wish to further their training and career development within Active Assistance, we offer a nationally recognised qualification in Health and Social Care.
