Rebecca Carter is the Managing Director of Take Note and founded the business in 2006. The idea for the business came about when she spotted a gap in the market for a low cost, efficient transcription service, with a team of transcribers large enough to handle high volume projects at short notice (whilst using a specialist home-grown team from within the UK, not outsourcing). Alongside this, she wanted to put together a team of highly skilled note takers, trained not only to type unbelievably fast but also to provide such detailed and accurate notes that the clients were able to use these immediately afterwards, with no waiting around for the minutes long after the event.
Rebecca started note taking and transcribing herself and soon built a customer base. When the workload became too much for one person to handle, she got in touch with Vanessa Rogers, an old school friend who had recently completed a business degree and was keen to get involved. Together, they perfected the service they were offering and then started to recruit. Since then, the two have grown the business to over 30 note takers and 200 transcribers working for more than 300 clients on a monthly basis. In addition to this, what started as just two services has now evolved into a huge variety being offered, with additions and improvements being made all the time.
