About us
Act4Africa is a well-established award-winning Ugandan non-governmental organisation with the aim of reducing poverty and transform communities, with a heavy focus on improving gender equality through female empowerment. Our main source of funding comes from donations and grants through our UK-based registered charity. Central to our work, we believe reducing gender inequality provides the most fundamental obstacle to eradicating poverty. Our vision is to build confidence and capability amongst the most vulnerable women and girls. We aim to achieve this through our mission to listen to our communities, providing care and holistic education to transform their lives. To make this happen, we implement a holistic approach to Health, Education, Agriculture and Livelihoods. Our current project on the ground is our Strong Mothers program, which aims to support young mothers in improving their livelihoods and childcare. We are looking for 'sandwich year' placement students to fill 3 different roles in our UK team.
