Online recruitment 'still in demand'

11 Nov 2008

Online recruitment 'still in demand' Despite financial pressure from the ongoing economic downturn online recruitment agencies may be the best way for university leavers to find graduate jobs in London, it has been reported.

According to onrec.com, new research shows e-recruitment may be the most effective way for people to break into the credit and risk sectors.

Online recruitment firm owner Brett Marlow told the news provider that employment in those industries is on the up as businesses are forced to deal with the effects of the credit crunch.

He added: "Many companies are actively recruiting credit control professionals to ensure that they manage their debtors and cash flow."

Mr Marlow told the recruitment news website that the job situation may not be as bad as the media portrays.

In related news, the government is being urged to diversify Britain's economy by supporting travel and tourism.

Responding to an industry report by Deloitte, the chief executive officer of VisitBritain Christopher Rodrigues told Travel Mole that the tourism sector contributes £114 billion to the British economy and directly employs more than 1.3 million people up and down the country.
