Training advice from Bath Spa University

05 Nov 2008

Training advice from Bath Spa University Bath Spa University leavers worried about the prospect of finding graduate jobs in London will be given support to increase their employment chances, it has been reported.

The university has organised an event to give students a boost before they finish studying, according to the Bath Chronicle.

Head of employability at the university Adam Powell said the advice evening would provide an excellent opportunity for students to discover work placement and training opportunities.

Mr Powell told the news provider: "We know the time immediately after graduation can be, for many graduates, a large step into the unknown."

He added that the fair could be useful, especially during the current period of uncertainty faced by graduates in the labour market.

The event has been put together with help from Business Link and Arts Matrix, the paper states.

Earlier this month, Oxford University's chancellor Chris Patten said the institution would never meet government targets on social inclusion if state schools did not improve their performance.

He claimed the government needed to abolish the "intolerably low" cap on tuition fees if it was to make universities' student intake sustainable.
