The winners of the Best Firms for Graduate Recruitment & Development Awards have been announced.

Shortlisted firms were split into two categories, those that hire more than 50 graduate recruits a year and those who take on less.

Barclays Wealth topped the under 50 list followed closely by Nomura International, while UBS came top in the over 50 category.

The firms were judged on whether they have a company-wide recruitment strategy, if they incorporate training into their core values and if the marketing material they produce reflects their graduate recruitment programmes accurately.

According to Here is the City, judges felt that "Barclays had made an industry-leading step in its recruitment and development programmes for the wealth industry".

Meanwhile, UBS "was felt to have a very strong campus brand with a portfolio of consistent materials and a detailed and informative web offering", the news provider states.

In related news, Barclays Wealth chef Clark Crawley, who cooks at their offices in Mayfair, has beaten rivals including Gordon Ramsay to take second place in the Knorr National Chef of the Year competition, reports Bloomberg.
