REC staff to temp it

19 May 2008

REC staff to temp it The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) is offering some members of its staff for hire during the National Temporary Workers week in June.

Recruitment agencies will be given the chance to hire REC staff as temps during the week – which aims to demonstrate the broad range of professions and industries that temps work in – with all proceeds going to the Cancer Research Campaign.

Students who work as temps in order to support their studies could be happy to hear that the annual event aims to promote the contributions of the temporary workforce.

The initiative, called REC Temps, will be held through a silent auction of staff shown available in a special 'temps available' directory.

Helen Reynolds, the body's deputy chief executive officer, believes the initiative is a "perfect way" for staff to show support for the week.

"We have so many talented individuals within the organisation that have their own specialist skills which would be of benefit to members, so we hope we receive many lucrative offers during the silent auction," she added.

REC is the trade body that supports and represents the recruitment industry and has more than 8,000 member agencies.
