Most popular interview question revealed

05 Feb 2008

Most popular interview question revealed The most popular question that students who are looking to secure temporary jobs will face at interview is about dealing with stress, according to a new report.

Research from A&DC has shown that the most popular question which interviewers will ask somebody when they are applying for a job, temporary work or otherwise, is "Can you please describe a situation when you have had to cope with a particularly high workload for a significant period of time?"

Rory Fidgeon, senior consultant occupational psychologist for A&DC, said: "It's perhaps not surprising that the most popular question is about handling stress, as the pressures of modern day living and juggling life and work commitments are a key priority for many individuals."

He added that this is heightened along with awareness of stress in the workplace through recent events such as national Stress Down Day which was launched by the Samaritans this month and the "continued resources put into managing stress with the workplace by the industry".

Employers also value organisational skills and problem analysis capabilities, something workers could get from doing temp work before they start their careers.

A&DC provides expertise choice and quality in solutions for assessment and behavioural change. It includes Peugeot, Camelot and Marks & Spencer among its clients.
