PwC and Deloitte 'best graduate employers'

24 Sep 2007

PwC and Deloitte 'best graduate employers' Price Waterhouse Cooper (PwC) and Deloitte have been named as the top two places new graduates would most like to work.

According to the Times Top 100 Graduate Employers list, sourced from the UK Graduates Careers Survey, PwC was found to be the top graduate employer, with Deloitte ranking second for a second successive year.

Results were based on a study of over 17,000 final year students graduating in 2007 by High Fliers Research company.

Graduate recruitment partner at Deloitte, Sarah Shillingford, said: "We are delighted to be ranked second place again this year. We are recruiting over 1,400 graduates and undergraduates and this independent recognition reflects our profile as a leading employer of UK graduates."

The Times highlighted Barclay's Capital investment bank's position at number 46 on the list, saying that it is growing fast compared with competitors.

The bank anticipates it will recruit around 600 employees from the graduate population in 2008.

Other companies in the Top 100 include Goldman Sachs, ranked at tenth best graduate employer for a second year running and Procter and Gamble up six places from last year to number 15.

The list comes as the newspaper reports an 80 per cent rise in vacancies in the accountancy sector.
