Popeyes Creating 500 Full Or Part Time Jobs In The West Midlands

Popeyes UK is set to create over 500 new full or part time jobs in the West Midlands as part of a significant national expansion drive.

The popular fried chicken chain will open six new restaurants in the West Midlands, including its first ever UK airport site at Birmingham Airport and its first rail station location outside London at Birmingham New Street.

The regional investment is part of Popeyes’ wider plans to open 45 new locations across the UK in 2025, with the aim of creating around 2,500 jobs nationwide this year.

The recruitment drive across the whole of the UK represents a 20 per cent increase on 2024 when the brand created 2,000 jobs.

The West Midlands will also see new branches of Popeyes at The Fort Shopping Park, Tyseley, Perry Barr and Wednesbury, the latter being home to the region’s first Popeyes Drive-Thru. All locations will offer dine-in and takeaway services.

The openings follow the success of Popeyes’ first ever Birmingham branch, which launched in August 2024. The brand’s expansion across the region is being driven by the growing popularity of its New Orleans-inspired menu, which includes the Chicken Sandwich, Hot Wings and Signature Wraps, as well as new additions like the Saucin’ Boneless range and a variety of breakfast options.

Nationally, Popeyes is undergoing rapid growth after launching its first UK outlet in London in 2021. By the end of last, the chain boasted 65 restaurants across the UK. The business doubled its total sales in 2024 to more than £118 million and is targeting revenue of over £200 million in 2025.

This approach is designed to support the brand's medium-term goal of reaching over 350 locations and establishing itself as one of the largest quick-service restaurant operators in the UK.

Announcing the expansion plans in the region, Chief Executive Officer for Popeyes UK, Tom Crowley, said: “The West Midlands is a key region for us and the incredible response to our first location in Birmingham city centre has shown just how much demand there is for Popeyes here.”

“With six new locations opening later this year, including our first-ever airport site in the UK and first rail station outside London, we can’t wait to bring a true taste of New Orleans to even more people and become a valued part of each of these communities,” added the CEO.
