Amazon Creating A Further 4,000 Full & Part Time Jobs In The UK

Online retail giant Amazon has announced a new round of recruitment which will see the firm create a further 4,000 full and part time jobs in the UK.

All of the new positions will be permanent roles and will add to the 36,000 vacancies that Amazon has already created in the last three years.

Once the recruitment drive is complete, Amazon will provide jobs for around 75,000 people in the United Kingdom alone. Globally, Amazon boasts around 1.6 million employees and shows no sign of slowing down in its hiring ambitions.

The 4,000 new UK roles will be split between various arms of Amazon’s operations, including jobs at fulfilment centres across the UK, as well as specialist positions such as engineering vacancies and software development opportunities.

Launching the recruitment drive for thousands of new staff at the online retailer, the Country Manager for Amazon UK, John Boumphrey, said:

“We’re continuing to invest in talent right across the UK, from apprentices in Swansea to data scientists in Edinburgh. People join us not just for the wide variety of roles, great pay and benefits, but for the career development opportunities we provide.”

“Applicants recognise we are an employer that offers great development potential and we are proud to have so many employees growing and taking the opportunity to learn new skills that will create paths to new jobs at Amazon and beyond,” added Mr Boumphrey.

These 4,000 permanent roles which Amazon has just announced are in addition to the 1,500 apprenticeships which the company has already pledged to fill this year.
