The YHA (Youth Hostel Association) has kicked off the New Year with a massive recruitment drive for hundreds of seasonal staff at iconic locations across the United Kingdom.

At the time of writing we are already trying to help the YHA England & Wales fill over 250 fantastic vacancies.

But the charity (one of the top fifty charitable organisations in the UK, actually) will have more than 400 jobs up for grabs before the end of January.

There are seasonal roles and permanent positions on offer at the YHA’s network of over 150 hostels,camps and cabins in beautiful places including Cambridge, Canterbury, Cornwall, Cumbria, Derbyshire, Dorset, North Yorkshire, Shropshire and Wales.

Just some of the roles on offer include activity instructor jobs, bar work, kitchen staff, hospitality team members, housekeeping assistants and catering assistants.

There are also office jobs and managerial positions on offer at the YHA too in select locations.

The YHA, almost 100 years old, employs people from over 40 nationalities and is always looking for new staff and volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds.

Promoting the new vacancies for the start of 2022, the YHA says:

“A seasonal job with YHA could see you behind a bar 20 metres from the shore of Windermere or changing beds in an 800-year-old castle. And you’ll have plenty of time to make the most of these amazing places in your spare time. Whether you’re an urban explorer, countryside rambler or a seasoned surfer, there’s a YHA for you.”

And, as for what other incentives could entice you to hit the apply button, here a few more words from the Association:

“As a YHA employee you’ll have access to a whole host of benefits designed to make your job as happy and rewarding as possible. YHA is a National Living Wage employer and will be raising to the new National Living Wage earlier than government requirements, we will be paying our Seasonal Team Members £9.50 per hour from 1st March 2022.”
