Supermarket chain Asda is creating 15,000 full and part time Christmas jobs across the UK this year.

Around 13,000 of the seasonal roles will be at Asda supermarkets throughout the country, whilst there will also be 1,500 home delivery jobs and a further 500 temporary vacancies at Asda’s depots in England, Scotland and Wales.

Although all of the 15,000 Christmas jobs at Asda are initially temporary positions, the grocery chain says that some roles could be made permanent in the New Year.

Announcing the hiring spree for the festive period, the chief people officer for Asda, Hayley Tatum, said:

“We will do all we can to make sure customers have a fantastic Christmas, and recruiting an extra 15,000 colleagues across our stores, depots and home delivery service will help us to provide them with great products and excellent service when they shop with us during the festive season.”
