Royal Mail is hiring almost 24,000 temporary staff for the Christmas 2021 period.

In total the delivery firm will be trying to fill 23,750 seasonal jobs across the Royal Mail and its sister company Parcelforce Worldwide.

The new recruits will be starting as early as the end of this month and some roles will run right through to January 2022.

Just over 20,000 jobs will be at Royal Mail’s mail centres, distribution hubs and data centres. Those Christmas positions will be split between the UK’s four countries, with 17,150 jobs on offer in England, 1,800 in Scotland, 650 in Wales and 500 in Northern Ireland.

Meanwhile, Parcelforce Worldwide will be recruiting 1,500 Christmas staff for the busiest period of its year.

There will also be 650 data entry jobs on offer at three locations across the UK, as well as 1,500 temp jobs at Royal Mail’s international parcel hub in Heathrow.

Announcing the seasonal recruitment drive, Zareena Brown, the chief people officer for Royal Mail, said: “Our seasonal workforce is incredibly important to our operation and we very much look forward to welcoming those who return year after year as well as those who may be joining us for the first time.”
