Deliveroo Creating 400 New High-Skilled Technology Jobs

Online food delivery firm Deliveroo has announced plans to create 400 new high-skilled technology jobs over the course of the next twelve months.

Although the company hasn’t given precise figures for where the new tech jobs will be located, a spokesperson for Deliveroo confirmed that the ‘vast majority’ would be UK-based.

New positions to be filled for graduates and experienced workers in the field include vacancies for data scientists, designers and software engineers.

The new recruits will help improve Deliveroo’s platform for customers, restaurants and the company’s team of riders.

Announcing the hunt for new tech staff over the next year, Dan Winn, the chief technology officer for Deliveroo, said: “Deliveroo is proud to be at the forefront of Britain’s dynamic technology sector and we are excited to be expanding our tech team to help drive Deliveroo’s growth.”

“These new team members will play a vital role in building best-in-class technology to help restaurants reach new customers, improve rider experience and give customers access to the food they love,” added Mr Winn.

Welcoming the announcement from Deliveroo, Oliver Dowden, the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport said: “This is a fantastic vote of confidence in the UK as a global hub for tech.”
