Azets Creating 200 New Northern Finance Jobs

International business services firm Azets is hoping to create around 200 new finance jobs in the north of England.

The northern vacancies will be split roughly half and half between the North West and North East regions of the country, with all positions expected to be filled in the next twelve months.

In the North West, Azets will be recruiting at six of its bases in Bolton, Lancaster, Manchester, Preston, Stockport and Rossendale.

Meanwhile, in the North East, the finance firm is looking for new staff members to fill roles at eight of its offices in Durham, Sunderland, Alnwick, Crook, Guisborough, Hexham, Seaton Burn and Wynyard.

The move is part of a wider recruitment drive which will see Azets, formerly known as Baldwins, add 10 per cent to its overall UK headcount in the next year or so.

Also included in the hiring plans are 250 new vacancies for the company’s offices north of the border in Scotland.

Once the hiring spree is complete the firm will have increased its headcount from around 6,500 employees to more than 7,150 across all of its UK bases.

Some of the roles on offer at Azets will be within the company’s accounts, advisory, assurance, audit, corporate finance and tax operations. There will be vacancies from associate level right up to opportunities for new partners at the firm.

Commenting on the hunt for new staff across the North, the regional managing partner of Azets, Joanne Regan, said: “The workspace is changing rapidly and forever, as is the support needed by our clients. That’s why we’re investing in a hybrid working model and encouraging our people to work from anywhere.”

“Digitisation is key to our investment strategy as clients want top-quality advice and rapid access to information at any given time, and staff want the flexibility and freedom to integrate work with their other commitments. There has never been a better time to think about joining Azets as we look to capitalise on growth to date and accelerate the next phase of development.”

“We are actively looking to add talented people to our team at all levels, from school leavers to partners and everything in between. It’s a great time to join a growing firm with ambitious plans,” added Ms Regan.
