Bredbury Hall is to create 100 new hotel jobs in Stockport when it relaunches next month.

The North West’s Bredbury Hall has been rescued from administration by Vine Hotels, a management and development firm, and they plan to refurbish the property and reopen during June.

The hotel, located two miles outside of Stockport and just eight miles from Manchester, will feature 149 rooms, a restaurant, lounge bar, brasserie, fitness centre, meeting rooms and a 16th century barn.

In total, the revamped Bredbury Hall will be able to cater for more than 1,000 guests at any one time.

The 100 jobs set to be created will be a variety of hotel roles such as receptionists, cleaners, waiters, waitresses, housekeepers and porters. There will also be managerial positions on offer for applicants with more experience of working in the hospitality industry.

Around 30 jobs will be created when Bredbury Hall reopens initially, and dozens more vacancies will be added further down the line.

Vine Hotels manages over ten hotel facilities across the UK and is owned by Greg Dyke, the BBC’s ex-director general, and Garin Davies

Commenting on the venture, Mr Dyke said: “Bredbury Hall is an exciting property. Combining a superb location with heritage and a long-established connection with its local community, It has immense potential for the future, and we look forward to helping Bredbury Hall take its rightful place as one of Stockport’s best hotels.”

Vine Hotels was assisted in carrying out the acquisition of Bredbury Hall by alternative investments specialist Connection Capital.

Doug Wilson, an investment director at the firm, said: “We are delighted to be working with Vine Hotels to re-open Bredbury Hall and to create jobs in the North West. Bredbury is a historic venue and we’re excited about the potential once full restrictions are lifted and things get back to normal.”
