Amazon Creating 1,000 New Apprenticeships Across The UK

Online retailing giant Amazon has announced plans to create 1,000 new apprenticeships across the UK this year.

We bring you this jobs bonanza at the start of National Apprenticeship Week 2021 and hope to announce further opportunities for the UK’s students and young people over the course of this week.

The company says it will be recruiting for 25 different types of apprenticeships across the 1,000 vacancies to be filled. Just some of the apprenticeships on offer at Amazon will include:

Around half of the 1,000 apprenticeships are to be filled internally by staff already working for Amazon but the e-commerce firm has already started recruitment for the other 500 vacancies externally.

All of the apprenticeships will include hands on work experience and will last from anywhere between fourteen months and four years.

All of the jobs will pay at least £9.70 per hour, with London based apprenticeships attracting even more, starting from a minimum of £10.80.

Some of the opportunities will also be for degree level apprenticeships which could pay up to £30,000 per year.

Announcing the hundreds of new opportunities around the nation, Amazon UK’s country manager, John Boumphrey, said: “An Amazon apprenticeship offers an exciting career path, creating opportunities within our local communities across the UK and helping our own employees retrain and gain new skills at a time when investing in people and jobs has never been more important.”

Amazon now provides jobs for 0ver 40,000 people in the UK, and has recruited 10,000 new staff in the last year alone.
