Jaguar Land Rover Recruiting 300 Graduates & Apprentices

Jaguar Land Rover is currently recruiting for 300 graduates and apprentices to join their ranks next September.

The recruitment drive will see the Coventry car maker add hundreds of students and apprentices across their engineering, finance and software functions in the next twelve months.

Since 2017, Jaguar Land Rover has taken on over 2,000 young people through its apprenticeship schemes and undergraduate and graduate programmes. Indeed, JLR is the biggest provider of automotive apprenticeships in the UK, with around 1 in every 2 of all such apprentices in the nation being trained at the company.

The announcement comes as Jaguar also launches a brand new four year engineering degree apprenticeship after partnering up with the University of Warwick.

Announcing the recruitment drive, Jaguar Land Rover’s talent and people capability director, Carrie Barber, said, “These are rapidly evolving times and the automotive industry is transforming to respond. Developing young talent is crucial to the future of our business and having diversity in our people at this stage of their career is pivotal.”

“We need young people who are passionate about our industry and brands, who desire to shape a different kind of world and who want to work together with innovation. We design modern, tailored and up to date early careers programmes to ensure we equip our people with skills for now and the future, whilst providing a supportive and inclusive environment.”

“Recent events have meant we have had to learn to do things differently and to be flexible. We will continue to innovate and digitalise, to deliver our early careers programmes during these times to ensure our people have access to opportunities and growth in a safe way,” added Ms Barber.

Lauren Overton, a digital and technology solutions degree apprentice at JLR, said: “I joined as one of the first apprentices two years ago. I was attracted to the programme because it meant I could study for a degree in an area I’m passionate about and also get some hands-on experience.”

“Being paid to study a subject I enjoy was an additional benefit. I have had the opportunity to get involved with some really challenging work which has had a real impact on the business and how it operates.”

“My experience on the programme has been fantastic so far. I’ve always felt supported and comfortable in asking my team for advice. I’m looking forward to completing my apprenticeship and my future career at Jaguar Land Rover,” said Ms Overton.
