The German Doner Kebab franchise is creating almost 500 new full and part time restaurant jobs in the UK.
The chain, originally formed in Germany but UK-based since 2016, is to open 12 new restaurants and will create around 40 jobs, on average, at each new location.
The expansion plan will see German Doner Kebab increase the number of its UK restaurants from 47 to 59 before the end of the year, creating 480 new vacancies in the process.
With the company employing around 1,500 members of staff at the moment, the new recruitment drive will see the chain swelling its headcount by almost a third before the end of 2020.
Locations set for new branches of German Doner Kebab include London, Bradford, Liverpool, Nottingham, Plymouth and Edinburgh.
Roles on offer at the German Doner Kebab chain include kitchen jobs, front of house positions and shift supervisor roles.
The restaurant chain has benefited from the UK government’s Eat Out To Help Out scheme and says that same-restaurant sales increased by almost 50 per cent in August when compared with 2019.
Announcing the expansion plans and recruitment drive at his company, German Doner Kebab’s chief executive officer, Imran Sayeed, said: “Our game-changing kebabs are revolutionising the kebab and we are excited to be announcing these latest growth plans. We have found ourselves in very challenging times, however, there continues to be a huge demand for the German Doner Kebab experience throughout the UK.”
“We are excited to build further momentum in our plans for growth and to be creating hundreds of new jobs throughout the country as we maintain our mission of building the fast-casual brand of the future. We have been incredibly agile and responsive to a fast-changing landscape during the pandemic,” added Mr Sayeed .
