2 Sisters Food Group Creates Hundreds Of Jobs To #FeedTheNation

The 2 Sisters Food Group has announced hundreds of new full and part time jobs for essential food workers in the era of Coronavirus.

2 Sisters Food Group supplies brands such as Fox’s Biscuits, Holland's Pies, The Pizza Factory and other ready-made meal firms and is a major poultry production specialist itself.

2 Sisters has 24 factories at locations all over the UK and is recruiting for hundreds of ‘key worker’ food roles to deal with what bosses describe as ‘unprecedented’ demand in wake of the pandemic.

The company lays claim to processing around 1 in 3 chickens produced in the UK and employs thousands of people nationwide. Also, although not a household name, 3 in 4 members of the British public eat food which 2 Sisters Food Group has produced on a daily basis.

Announcing the hundreds of new jobs via video on social media, 2 Sister Food Group's chief executive, Ronald Kers, said: “2 Sisters’ job is literally to feed the nation. Getting food to people has never been so important. As we come together as a country to fight the coronavirus, we need everybody’s help to keep our factories running.”

“We urgently need people so we can keep delivering a full range of products to supermarkets across the country. We are recruiting now for a wide range of factory and logistics jobs up and down the country. Please join us and help feed the nation,” urged Mr Kers.

In addition to a huge uptick in demand for their products, the recruitment drive at 2 Sisters is also driven by the fact that the company is facing staffing issues, mainly due to many of their employees self-isolating themselves as a precaution against COVID-19.

“This has brought about an urgent need for vacancies, both permanent and temporary roles. We have seen this across food and retail. We are hopeful that given the devastating effect this current crisis has had on certain sectors, we can reach out to these people and persuade them that a career in the food industry can be both fulfilling and enjoyable,” explained Mr Kers.

The company is now recruiting for staff to work at its Fox’s Biscuits operations in Batley, Kirkham and Uttoxeter.

Other places where vacancies are on offer include Derby, Nottingham, Scunthorpe, Sunderland, West Bromwich and Wolverhampton.

Commenting on 50 roles which are now available at The Pizza Factory in Nottingham, a spokesperson said: “We have various roles ranging from packing, dispatch, preparation and there are various shift patterns to fit around people’s lifestyles. We can interview applicants immediately and hopefully we can accommodate as many people as possible. We will do all we can to help."

Launching their bid to ‘Help feed the nation’ the company’s careers website says:

“It's never been more important to keep nourishing the people who need it the most - our NHS, our elderly, our families and the people who are most vulnerable. As one of the UK’s leading food manufacturers we provide around 150 million meals a week to the nation. It's vital we can keep going.”

“We urgently need people to come and work in our 24 factories around the UK. At a time like this, you're not just making meals, you're making a real difference.”

The 2 Sisters Food Group provides full and part time jobs for more than 20,000 people in the UK and Europe.
