Virgin Media To Create 500 Customer Service Jobs In The UK

In response to the Coronavirus outbreak, Virgin Media is creating 500 customer service roles in the UK to try to keep internet users connected through the crisis.

Hundreds of contact centre vacancies will be advertised by Virgin Media in their Birmingham, Manchester, Sheffield and Teesside offices, with a mix of temporary and permanent positions up for grabs.

Like many other recruiters during social distancing measures, Virgin Media will use video interviews as part of the application process to fill the new roles.

With many people self-isolating and under quarantine, Virgin Media is swamped with calls and needs to ramp up its teams to deal with the surge in demand.

As well as working at Virgin Media’s physical contact centres, the company is also allowing many staff to work remotely whilst the outbreak is ongoing.

Announcing the new contact centre roles, the Executive Director for Customers at Virgin Media, Abby Thomas, said: “In these difficult times, we’re really proud to soon be welcoming hundreds of new staff to our contact centres who will help us continue to serve our customers.”

“We’re working day and night to keep the country connected and make sure services are running smoothly,” added Ms Thomas.
