B&M To Create Dozens Of New Full & Part Time Jobs In Chepstow

Discount retailer B&M is to create dozens of new full and part time jobs in Chepstow with the opening of a new store.

The new branch of B&M is set to open in June this year in the Thornwell area of Chepstow and bosses estimate that around 80 vacancies will be up for grabs.

The site was previously a Homebase store which recently closed, but B&M are to offer the 20 former staff who worked there one of their vacancies.

The other 60 jobs which are still to be filled will include a mix of positions including customer service roles, checkout staff and shop floor workers.

As well as flexible shifts with full and part time hours, B&M say that the new jobs in Chepstow will also be a mix of permanent positions and temporary contracts.

Announcing the new jobs in Chepstow, a spokesperson for B&M said: “We’re feeling really positive about the creation of more jobs for local people and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store. We are all really excited to get the doors open and welcome our new customers in June.”

And it seems like some local people are also feeling positive about the new B&M, with one Chepstow resident saying: “This is great news in terms of a new store opening and also in the creation of jobs. I often shop at B&M Bargains in Newport. I just hope that B&M bring their full range to the new store in Chepstow. It’s certainly big enough.”

The B&M story started with one store in Blackpool in 1978. It has since grown to a chain of more than 600 stores, employing over 25,000 people in full and part time roles across the UK.
