Echo-U Creates 200 Christmas Call Centre Jobs In Newcastle

Customer service outsourcing firm Echo-U is to create 200 Christmas call centre jobs in Newcastle as it readies for one of its busiest periods of the year.

The Christmas jobs will be at Echo-U’s Newcastle Quay call centre base and will be temporary seasonal roles lasting until the start of 2019.

However, career prospects at Echo-U, founded in 2001, appear to be very good; 4 in 5 of their current management team started out at the company as customer service advisors.

The Newcastle jobs at Echo-U this Christmas are available both full time and part time, with flexible hours available in the evenings and early in the morning.

Echo-U boasts a client list including First Direct, Sage and the National Careers Service, and, in addition to Newcastle, also has a second call centre in Bournemouth.

Most of the Christmas vacancies will be for customer service advisors helping out with international parcel delivery firm DPD who are expecting a frenetic few festive weeks of deliveries in the run up to Xmas 2018.

Echo-U is expanding quickly; last year the firm only hired 155 Christmas staff, so this year they are looking to fill almost a third more seasonal roles than they did in 2017.

Announcing the jobs bonanza at his firm, Echo-U’s director, David Blakey, said: “The festive period is a truly exciting but busy time at Echo-U. As we prepare for one of the busiest periods of the year we are looking for individuals with an enthusiastic approach to customer service.”

“With the opportunity to work across an inbound campaign for an award-winning courier, our seasonal roles are ideal for anyone looking for flexible hours or to make some extra money as they prepare for Christmas.”

“We provide a full training programme ensuring people are on track to provide outstanding customer service so experience isn’t essential. Our city centre base means our recruits have access to great transport links in the heart of our bustling city centre and quayside,” added Mr Blakey.

You can find out more about working at Echo-U on the company’s careers page. And, if you are looking for some work yourself this Christmas then apply early on our Xmas Seasonal Vacancies section.
