Superbowl UK To Create Dozens Of New Jobs In Swansea

Ten-pin bowling chain Superbowl UK has announced plans for a new venture which will create dozens of full and part time jobs in Swansea this year.

The company will open a new £2 million branch of Superbowl UK, featuring 14 bowling lanes, at Swansea’s The City Gates in October this year; a move which will create around 35 vacancies in the South Wales city.

Jobs on offer will include servers, party hosts and chefs along with some managerial roles.

Superbowl UK Swansea will be the chain’s fourth branch in Wales, following other successful enterprises in Cardiff, Newport and Merthyr Tydfil.

Elsewhere in the UK, the company has branches in Hull, Ipswich, Macclesfield and Widnes. It also has plans to further its portfolio with more new ventures in Barnsley and St Helens over the next couple of years.

As well as ten-pin bowling, Superbowl UK venues also feature Laser Quest, Crazy Club Soft Play, bars, dining areas and arcades.

Phillip Morris, the Leisure Agency & Development Partner for EJ Hales which is the leasing agent for Swansea’s City Gates said: “It’s terrific to be doing another deal with Superbowl UK who have continued to expand successfully through their delivery of superb quality entertainment facilities which provide something for every member of the family.”

“We believe this new arrival is a wonderful win both for Swansea and for The City Gates. We look forward to welcoming Superbowl UK to the city and are excited to see the entertainment they bring with them,” added Mr Morris.

Kate Quaintance-Blackford, Company Director at Superbowl UK, said: “Superbowl UK Swansea presents us with an exciting opportunity to extend our distinctive brand of family entertainment further across South Wales, where we believe it will prove extremely popular.”

“We offer such a diverse range of leisure activities under one roof and, because of that, we’re very confident about the success of the new site here in Swansea,” added Ms Quaintance-Blackford.
