Sitel To Create 350 New Temporary Call Centre Jobs In Plymouth

Outsourcing firm Sitel has announced recruitment plans which will create 350 new temporary call centre jobs in Plymouth after winning a contract with a FTSE 100 company.

50 of the jobs will be filled before the end of the year and the other 300 positions will start during January and February 2018.

Although the customer service roles at Sitel’s Plymouth offices are temporary vacancies for between three and six months, the company says that some opportunities for permanent positions may arise during the contracts.

At the time of writing the FTSE 100 company who has signed a new deal with Sitel has not been named but we will bring you further details when we receive them.

Commenting on the new temporary vacancies, a spokesperson for Sitel said: “There will be 300 jobs, people will be starting in January or February. We are recruiting now. It is a short-term contract but we hope to continue to offer new opportunities throughout the year.”

Praising the Devon city and the talent pool within it, Sitel Plymouth’s site director, Nathian Carnall, said: “We are building on the success and effort that the local team have invested in this site since it opened. The site itself is an attraction, and with the calibre of staff being fantastic we are set up for a very long and bright future here in Plymouth.”

If you are interested in the Sitel Plymouth jobs then you’ll need to act quickly as Jobcentre Plus is hosting an information session for the vacancies at its Exeter Street office next Thursday, 21st December.

Giving details of the recruitment process and a few job requirements, Plymouth Jobcentre Plus employer advisor, Paul Paskins said “People can apply for jobs on that day. They will be invited to Sitel’s Derriford site for a tour and interview. If they are suitable a job offer will be made. Applicants will need good communication skills. They will have to be able to speak on the phone to customers.”

Once the new recruits are at their workstations in Plymouth, Sitel will have temporarily increased its existing headcount by 60 per cent to 800 in the Devon city. Worldwide, Sitel works in more than 20 countries and employs over 75,000 staff in full and part time roles.
