McDonald’s is to create up to 100 new full and part time jobs in Liverpool with a new restaurant on the city’s Great Homer Street.

The new branch of McDonald’s is set to open in next month and applications for dozens of positions in Liverpool are already open.

Most of the roles on offer at the new Great Homer Street McDonald’s will be for crew members but there will also be a handful of managerial roles on offer too. Depending on age, pay for the crew member jobs will be between £5 and £8 an hour, with responsibilities including cleaning tables and serving behind the counter.

Liverpool McDonald’s franchisee Mark Blundell said: “I understand the importance of investing in the community and I’m delighted to be able to bring an employment boost to the local area with 100 new jobs in Liverpool. With excellent training programmes and career opportunities on offer to all of our employees, I hope the roles will appeal to a broad spectrum of people across the city.”

Offering some details of what sort of traits you will need to display to cut it in the role at McDonald’s, the Liverpool job advert says:

“To join us as a Crew Member you’ll need to be confident in approaching and dealing with diverse groups of people. Friendly, courteous and helpful behaviour will come naturally to you and you’ll work well as part of a team. Effective communication skills such as attentive listening, face-to-face verbal communication and eye contact are a must.”

“You’ll also need to understand the importance of maintaining high standards of quality and service as well as cleanliness. The ability to maintain high energy levels whilst working both efficiently and productively is essential. Finally, your appearance should be smart and clean.”
