Co-op To Create 250 Supermarket Jobs In Wales

Co-op has announced expansion plans which will see it create around 250 supermarket jobs in various parts of Wales this year.

Co-op says it will open a dozen new supermarkets in Wales throughout 2017, creating an average of 20 vacancies with each launch. They will also renovate a further 20 Welsh stores over the coming months. Combined, the expansion and renovation work with amount to an investment of £16 million by Co-op in Wales.

There will be new jobs in Swansea, Cwmbach, Llanelli, Machen, Monmouth, Pembroke, Radyr, Rhayader, Wrexham and other parts of Wales advertised during 2017 by Co-op.

Managing Director for the Co-op in Wales, Tina Mitchell, said: “Continued investment in our brand and our business is delivering benefits for colleagues, members and communities right across Wales.”

“Quality, trust and provenance are key for customers and we are working closely with smaller producers. It is their traditions, passion, and innovation which makes their products loved locally, and as a community retailer we are committed to championing great Welsh food and drink,” added Ms Mitchell.
