Genpact To Create 300 Jobs In Glasgow

Professional services firm Genpact is set to create 300 jobs in Glasgow before the end of 2022.

Genpact, an employer of over 70,000 people worldwide, is expanding its European operations and will be advertising a number of different roles in Glasgow, including customer service positions, insurance jobs and risk management vacancies.

The recruitment drive will triple the company’s staff levels in Glasgow over the next five years, moving from a current 165 staff to almost 500 in the Scottish city.

Explaining why the firm is building up its headcount in Glasgow, Mohit Thukral, senior vice president of Genpact, said: “The Glasgow metro area has provided an exceptional talent base and favourable economic climate, especially for our financial services business. Our planned expansion will further leverage these benefits as we drive more digital-led transformation business impact for our clients.”

“Expanding our presence in Scotland with this strong government partnership advances our strategy of strengthening both our onshore delivery and digital solutions capabilities,” added Mr Thukral.

Scottish Enterprise has injected a grant of £3.1 million into the Genpact deal. The economic development agency’s managing director of international operations, Paul Lewis, said: “We are pleased to be supporting Genpact’s investment in Scotland and delighted the company has chosen Glasgow for its prestigious European expansion project. The company joins the growing number of investors who are choosing Scotland for ambitious expansion projects and we look forward to working closely with Genpact as it establishes this new facility.”

Nicola Sturgeon, Minister of Scotland and the leader of the Scottish National Party, welcomed Genpact’s announcement, saying: “Scotland continues to be recognised as a prime business location for global companies looking for a foothold in and access to Europe.”

“This is thanks to our exceptional skills, business infrastructure, low cost base and global business network. I am delighted that Genpact will locate its new European facility in Scotland, with support from Scottish Enterprise,” added Ms Sturgeon.
