Debenhams is offering 50 retail jobs at a store in Nottingham as it gears up for a busy period of trading into Christmas and beyond.

Some of the temporary Christmas vacancies at the Nottingham store could convert into permanent roles once the holidays are over for talented recruits who impresses the bosses.

Store manager for the Debenhams on the city’s Long Row, Beth Tuffnell, confirmed that previous experience was not essential for the many different Nottingham retail roles. Sales jobs, health & beauty positions and stock handler vacancies are all up for grabs at the store this Christmas.

Giving some details of the sort of applicant they are interested in, Ms Tufnell said: “Our colleagues here in Nottingham are part of what makes Debenhams a great place to shop for our customers. The lead up to Christmas is our busiest time and we are looking for people with passion and drive to deliver the great service that our customers deserve over this festive period. We would love to hear from candidates who want to join a great team, have a strong 'can-do' approach and are keen to learn the ropes.”

“Many colleagues who join us over this period stay on as permanent members of the team, so it's a good opportunity for candidates to apply at this crucial time in the recruitment calendar,” added Ms Tufnell.

The 50 new retail vacancies at the Long Row in Nottingham are part of a wider push to recruit up to 8,000 staff into temporary jobs at Debenhams stores and support functions all over the country for Black Friday, Christmas and the January sales.
