Energy Comparison Company To Create 250 New Jobs In Greater Manchester

Exchange Utility, a firm which allows users to compare the prices of energy and utilities from different suppliers, is set to create 250 new jobs in Greater Manchester.

Exchange Utility already employs around 160 people in Bury, Greater Manchester, but has announced expansion plans which will see it more than double its headcount in the area to more than 400 staff in full or part time roles.

The company, which was only founded in 2013, will open new offices the centre of Bury next month whereas. Previously, Exchange Utility had smaller offices in a less central area of the town. The company’s directors, John Baker and Kelly Ivison, said the move would put them in ‘prime locations to attract potential employees from right across the borough.’

“Our renovation of Athenaeum House on Market Street allows us to grow our talented team of 160 people to 410. Bury represented the perfect fit for our company to continue to prosper, and make a real contribution to the local community. It will give our employees excellent access to transport, leisure and retail. We are a company that pride ourselves on our friendly culture, and our mission to save businesses money,” said the directors.

Bury Council Leader, Councillor Mike Connolly, welcomed the Exchange Utility announcement and predicted continuing success for the company in the town:

“Having a strong and thriving local economy is crucial for Bury, and helping to create and maintain that is one of the council’s very top priorities. We warmly welcome Exchange Utility to Bury; they are an excellent business, firmly founded on family values. This move secures further employment opportunities in the local area, as well as increasing footfall in the town centre. We will continue to work with the team at Exchange Utility to ensure that their move is successful,” said Councillor Connolly.
