HGS Europe is expanding its UK operations in a move which will create around 500 new full and part time call centre jobs in Preston and Selkirk.

300 call centre jobs will be created in Preston, taking HGS Europe’s headcount in the north west town to over 700, and a further 200 positions will be advertised in Selkirk. A range of front and back office vacancies are to be on offer at HGS, including customer service roles, sales positions and technical helpdesk jobs.

HGS’s Preston call centre has won ‘Best Large Contact Centre’ three times at the Contact Center World Awards and the company’s clients Astra Zeneca, Danone, Lloyds Banking, Kimberly Clark, TalkTalk, Virgin Health, Unilever and the UK government’s Visas & Immigration Department.

Commenting on the announcement, HGS Europe’s Director of Operations, Les Blacker, said: “We are entering an exciting phase of growth for our business, forecasted to bring new jobs and development to the local economy. Our recruitment campaign is underway and will be targeting local talent across Preston and Selkirk. There are a wide range of roles available, which are suited to those seeking to progress their career in customer services.”
