Between them, Debenhams and Hamleys are to create 200 temporary retail jobs in Glasgow, with some set to be Christmas vacancies in the Scottish city.

The seasonal retail vacancies, to be advertised at Glasgow’s St. Enoch Centre by the two stores in partnership with Glasgow Skills Shop, will be featured at a jobs fair over the two days 10-11th September 2015. Debenhams will have sales and stock assistant jobs up for grabs and toy retailer Hamleys will be looking to fill product demonstrator and stock roles at the jobs fair.

The first recruitment day, Thursday the 10th September, will be for the Debenhams jobs and will run between 11am and 7pm (with a two hour break from 3pm til 5pm) and the following day - 10am til 6pm with a break between 2pm and 4pm - will be for the Hamleys vacancies at the St. Enoch Centre. Over 2,000 people attended the jobs fair held at the Glasgow shopping centre last year, and organisers are hoping for a busy event again in 2015.

Our key role is to support the development of Glasgow’s economy; working with employers to help fill their vacancies with the best possible candidates whilst contributing to the success of the centre and Glasgow’s reputation as the second largest retail centre in the UK.”

Along with Argos, Amazon and Boots, Debenhams is usually one of the biggest seasonal recruiters over the Christmas holidays, with thousands of temporary retail jobs up for grabs each year.
