A new Radisson Blu development is set to create dozens of new full or part time hotel jobs in Hull.

The Radisson Blu hotel will be built on an area which used to be Hull’s Rank Hovis mill and will feature over 160 rooms when complete. The chain, part of the Rezidor Hotel Group, says the hotel should be open at the start of 2017 and will sustain around 76 new jobs in Hull.

The new Radisson Blu hotel in Hull has been designed by Leach Rhodes Walker, a Manchester architectural practice which focuses on hotels, and will cover a dozen floors. The plans also include spaces for bars, restaurants, cafes, business meeting rooms and a health club.

Explaining the vision behind the architecture of the leisure facilities at Hull’s Radisson Blu, Leach Rhodes Walker, said: “The design brief required the introduction of the internationally renowned Radisson Blu hotel to the development together with its significant restaurant, bar, lounge and meeting rooms. These publicly accessible facilities contained over three storeys have been designed to allow full visibility and interaction with the waterside walkways, and to bring additional vibrancy to the development's central civic square. The curved façade of the hotel rises 12 storeys above the waterside offering sweeping panoramic views over the city.”

The new hotel jobs which will be created at the Hull Radisson Blu will include vacancies for receptionists, cleaning staff, catering roles and management positions. As soon as we know more about when the new Hull jobs will be advertised, we’ll add another update to this news section.

UK and Ireland vice president at Rezidor, Richard Moore, was excited to be getting things underway at the Rank Hovis mill site, saying: “This is an exciting opening for us, we are delighted to bring Radisson Blu to Hull, which will be the UK's City of Culture in 2017. The new hotel will be a striking addition to the city.”
